Gastrointestinal pathology deals with the diagnosis and characterization of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the digestive tract and other accessory organs, such as the pancreas and liver. It involves diagnostic evaluation of surgical (whole organ) and biopsy pathology of gastrointestinal tissue.
