In this article, we explore the key areas of transplantation research that are reshaping the landscape of organ and tissue transplantation. Organ preservation is a critical factor influencing the success of transplantation. Research in this area focuses on advancing organ preservation techniques to prolong the viability of organs outside the body. Normothermic perfusion, a technique that maintains organs at body temperature, is a promising development allowing for extended preservation periods.
