Trace metals are ubiquitous in the environment, with significant implications for ecosystem and human health due to their bio accumulative nature and toxicity. This article explores various models used to understand trace metal bioaccumulation, focusing on metabolic availability and associated toxicological impacts. The review synthesizes current research findings on the mechanisms of bioaccumulation, factors influencing metal uptake, and the resultant toxicity across different organisms and environments.
