With climate change, resource scarcity, and environmental degradation posing significant challenges to global food security, agroecology has emerged as a viable solution that combines traditional farming wisdom with modern science. However, small-scale farmers, who often lack access to the necessary capital and resources, face significant hurdles in adopting agroecological practices. To address this issue, the Alfredo Namitete Agroecology Credit System has been introduced as an innovative business approach to encourage lending on a small scale. This article explores the concept, implementation, and potential impact of this revolutionary credit system in promoting sustainable agriculture among small-scale farmers.
